first...is there any way to tell when to flush prior to harvest without having the experience of doing it before.ive grown before but not using any of these malipulation techniques.....second...when does one harvest?i have not kept a log or anything [that wont happen again].and whats with these seedless seedpods that fill with thc, what do they look like?lastly,do all strains turn red/orange?if they do,i have never waited long enough.

LOL! Ok so here is what I did. I waited til about 40% or so of the buds were browning then I started using only plain water they seemed to slow turning. So it turned out to be about three weeks (too long for 2 of them that were getting a very high P food) until like 70-80% was brown. I feel I waited a bit to long on the pistils maybe but the high is very stoney I may shoot for 60% but these buds seemed to start to explode with new pistils at the very end.

Bottom line; It is a very independent decision that people decide according to their tastes and the plants. I have seen big agruements over "when" is exactly the right time. But it sounds like you are getting close indeed

Happy Harvest

Using the high P caused my plants to go yellow in the time I talked about before. but the others that got a more balanced mix weren't affected as badly. But the water intake on them seemed to start to pick up about now when the buds really started to swell Flushiung really pays off. I had some smoke that was grown from the same seed I had and theirs was ferted to the end and quick dried. It was very harsh. Mine is still curing and it sooooooo smooth

Well, the flushing takes the chemical taste out of the plant since it has been only taking in fresh water that is what has replaced the nutrient laden water. The Slow dry allows the chlorophyll to break down properly and other checmical changes to occur that didn't get to happen when it is quick dried. I don't have the literature with me here to reference so I am going from memory, But I am sure someone here can go into much detail about it about the "Why" of a bud tastes better when flushed and dried slowly.
