![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I just heard some crazy tale today about cutting the very base of the plant with a razor blade a few days before you harvest. Not cutting the stem in half, just putting a 3 inch slit down the middle of the stem, apparently it releases some nutrients to the buds to make them grow faster. Don't know that its true, and am very skeptical... any info would be appreciated.

![]() | I would see this as being a stressor for the plant. I don't know about releasing different hormones, just more. Kinda like cutting your lights off for 48hrs before harvest, which is my choice as I reveg after harvest. ![]()

I heard that. Your suppossed to split the bottom of the stem and insert a tooth pick or a stick. Just remember only to do what happens in nature so you can determine if its a smart idea or not "

![]() | Now I have to put my two cents in here… Now, fact you get high from smoking pot! Why? Because THC is a tranquilizer the plants only defense! Why defense? Because MJ has predators man, animal, insect… And with all plants that produce toxins as a defense, MJ has the ability to increase its level with age and need! Although cutting the stem won’t do sh*t but as most experienced growers know a plant that gets more attention such as training that involves a lot of pruning and topping will build higher levels of THC. Reason being, the plant thinks it’s getting munched on! Hmm, sound logical you say? Well that’s high school biology at it’s best! ![]()

![]() | Why don't you learn how to grow a healthy tree before you learn how to grow one you abuse to death? Nature does not do that, we should not either.... ![]() JMHO

![]() | Sorry, but that could be the most retarded thing i have ever heard.....do not cut the stem of any plant ever.....the stem provides what is called xylem and phloem which are the plants tunnels for transporting nutrients from the roots to the leaves, and buds and back down to the roots..... ![]()

seeing a picture in an old buddhist book some years ago that had a picture of an mj plant with a piece of wood pushed all the way through the stem, it was done to stress the plant before harvest, i beleive the practice died out when they discovered the extra darkness before hervest method, it does exist but it died out as an outdated practice....probably for good reason too happy growin'
