Curing the right way....
permalink

So I finally got to chop my first babes down 6 days ago...... I wanted to leave as much of the plant together, so I chopped in only a few different places. From there I dried in a cool, dark closet for 3 days, from there they have been in paper bags. Would it be better to first put them into bags for about a week, then hang in closet? Should I leave them in the closet for longer, then put them into bags for about a week? After the bag/closet I am going to put them in jars for another week........Let me know what the experts think!?

Cool Curing
permalink

Hi,
As far as I know there is not a "curing 101". If you have read deltas harevsting and drying and followed it then you are ready for the cure. Curing involves storing the dried bud in containers, glass jars are good but keep them in a dark cool place when filled, which improves taste and potency. The longer you can cure for the better your smoke will be. Make sure to open the jars for around 15-30 minutes per day to let out excess moisture and to let the bud breathe, this will prevent mould from forming, they say the longer the better but a minimum cure should 4-5 weeks, that'll get rid of the harshness of your smoke.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Xjo
