![]() | Have heard a little about water curing:- apparently this can be done after harvest & b4 drying, basicaly dip buds or leaf in water for a couple of hrs, then dry as usual - HAS ANYONE TRIED THIS??????Its supposed to take the harshness from the flavor - making leaf more smokable. Does it affect THC???? (of course we dont usually have to smoke leaf - but when your girlies arent ready then beggars cant be choosers -ha ha ha

![]() | Makes no sense. Haven't tried it, haven't ever heard a logical reason of why to do that, so I would say no. If you have coated your plants with chemicals, fertlizers, insecticides, or fungicides, then yes, bath them before harvesting, but otherwise they shouldbe fine. ![]()

![]() | Yep, that wos my first thought on the subject too - butttt apparently this "water curing" removes starches, sugars & some unwanted other stuff. it apparently doesn't effect THC as its not water soluble. So the idea is to make the smoke less harsh - then so if your making oil from leaf then the oil will be tastier too?????? while not effecting the stone (teehee you're probably thinking Crazy KIWI??????)

![]() | Consider this- Where are the starches and sugars coming from? The epidermis of the plants prevents the insides from interacting with the water, so unless this is starch and sugar on the outside of the plant, it isn't going into solution. ![]()

![]() | I seem to remember reading about something like this but I thought you used dried leaf, and soaked it in cold water, then dried it again. It was written in an old book, first published in the sixties or seventies.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Marijuana Grower's Guide says . . . "Water Cure "Unlike other curing methods, the water cure is performed after the marijuana is dried. Powder and small pieces are most often used, but the cure also works with whole colas. The material is piled loosely in a glass or ceramic pot which is filled with luke-warm water. (When hot water is used, some of the THC is released in oils, which escape and float to the top of the water.) Within a few hours many of the non-psychoactive water-soluble substances dissolve. An occasional gentle stirring speeds the process. The water is changed and the process repeated. Then the grass is dried again for smoking. "THC is not water-soluble; so it remains on the plant when it is soaked. By eliminating water-soluble substances (pigments, proteins, sugars, and some resins), which may make up 25 percent of the plant material by weight, this cure may increase the concentration of THC by up to a third. "Marijuana cured by this method has a dark, almost black colour, and looks twisted and curled, something like tea leaves. The water cure is frequently used to cure dried fan leaves and poor-quality grass." Haven't tried it. Am considering it.

![]() | Its worth a go - I'm gonna try with some bud (just a little in case I stuff up) I'll have to make a calculated guess whether or not it works as I cant measure it scientificatly (**** that woz a big word!!!!! wonder if I spelt right - ha ha) Cant figure out how the THC will be increased tho - sounds strange but we'll see will try with some leaf & make oil - probably improve taste I think

![]() | IMHO- it does not increase the concentration of THC in that more THC is there after than before. It just gets rid of other stuff. Sounds like a good idea. Any info from anyone on whether these water soluble substances affect flavor, harshness, etc.?? ![]()
