![]() | In the past, I have harvested when about 70% of my pistils turned brown. Looking to do it right, I have been watching the trichomes closely. A couple of the buds I now have flowering have almost 100% brown pistils (90-95%?) and yet I see no amber trichomes yet. Mostly cloudy with a few clear remaining. Should I continue to wait or chop it down? The strain is Kevorkian. Hydro. 250W HPS. Now in flushing stage with plain pH adjusted water. Week 8 of flowering. Jasper ![]() PS: I bought one of those Radio Shack 'Illuminated Microscope" thingies for $10. What a piece of junk. My 8X printer's lupe does a much better job. I can't focus the Radio Shack one. It looks like something from a Cracker-Jack box, IMO.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Try cutting a small piece of leaf from the bud to check your trichomes, jasper. The Radio Shack microscope is nearly imposible to focus while looking at buds on the bush. A little snippet of a few sweet leaves will be much easier to view. I prefer harvesting my buds when they are at the stage you describe. A few clear and the rest mostly cloudy will continue to ripen after harvest into the few amber that you desire. Personal preference on this point entirely. You will not be disappointed in your harvest whenever you decide to cut. Another week and you will surely begin to see amber. ![]()

![]() | Thanks, Buzzmobile! I'm going to cut the few buds that I was talking about. The Radio Shack thing isn't really necessary anyway. My 8x is great and I can hold it right up next to the bud. Jasper ![]()
