Approaching the end of flowering.... what to do now???
permalink

I am 37 days into flower with 2 Nirvana Northen Lights plants under a 400W HPS in soil.

The buds are just about beginning to fatten up (at last) but this is my first grow (as far as flower) so wasn't expecting monster buds anyway.

Right... the problem i have is that there are sources online that say Nirvana NL should be flowered for 45-50 days... and others that say 8/9 weeks.

As this is my first time in flower i have no idea what they should b looking like towards the end. I have a jeweler's luope so can i tell by examining the buds and checking for amber pistils???

Also, should i start flushing now or after the pistils are 50% amber or what?

I probably sound a bit vague and stupid but the two different flowering times have knocked me off course a bit so any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

RedEye said it well, but I'd like to add a bit about flushing.

Plan for a couple of weeks time for your plants to throughly flush the nutrients out of their system.

At this point this should give you a good time frame for you current harvest.

Hope this helps

Yes there are a few signs to look for nearing harvest. The 'Harvesting' forum has lots of info. The thread by GPB linked above is good also as are other threads in the libary.

Let me move this over to 'Harvesting' for you.
