I've run out of smokeable bud, and money. And as I've watched the process of my plant, I see myself becoming a little impatient. This is week 9. And yes, i do understand that she may not be ready until week 14, or maybe later.

So i'm wondering if maybe i should turn the lights on for only 8 hours a day. This would speed up the ripening process. Patience is a virtue, but I'm not sure how much of a yeild i would be loosing if i did this. Her buds would still swell, and she would still do everything she would do, but just faster.

I know I could wait, but figure this. I could be blazing my own homegrown in a few weeks, or I could wait two more months for everything to be all done, and then be able to enjoy the same bud. 2 months vs. a few weeks.

I just want to blaze. {no hook-ups allowed... JG} I won't turn the lights down to 8 hours, otherwise, I may do it tomorrow. I wanted to wait for insight from professionals, and amatuers alike.

you COULD flower it faster now if you wanted to but the bud would not be as tasty and there would be less of it...so the real question here is less bud faster or more bud slower???that is up to you my friend...you can always start another one after this one to get more so hey, whatever works....peace

A few extra weeks isnt that long to go without smoking, and it will be worth the wait.

Thats what I would do, the only question here is, how long can you go without gettin stoned

Either way, Happy smoking in the end

thanks for giving feedback so quick, greatly appreciated. I didn't factor in the taste. She's stinky, and she has lots and lots of trichs. Some trichs are ridiculously long. I'd love to have a microscopic camera that could take these pics. Anyway through observation, I recognize the mushroom type ends of the trichs, and I've noticed that they are still very clear.

I took a bud off my smaller cola last week, which had lots of cloudy trichs, and a few clear, but I may have been mistaken. I dried it and cured it for about 5 days. I was pretty blazed, with a really upper buzzy type head and body high, medicinal and rejuvenating. But i've been really looking closely at the other buds surrounding where I had picked it, and they still have lots of clear trichs. Makes me doubt my previous judgements. I'll just have to keep checking on her everday, and we'll see when things change. I guess I'll be patient and keep her on the 12/12

I've been flushing to get rid of the nutes and what not, but is there anyway I can promote larger buds without using chemicals? Or make them more potent and tastier? If I have another 5 weeks or so, isn't that plenty of time to try to help her get bigger and better?

5 weeks is lots of time for fattening.

The more intense light they receive without suffering from heat stress, the bigger they will become sooner. providing a healthy supply of c02 and nutrients, wich Im sure You already have provided.

Hey bro - I was in the same boat as you in my first blueberry harvest. I was going out of my mind because I wanted to try it. The only way I was able to keep from gobbling down the whole thing was to sample the suckers from the undergrowth of the plant. Week 5 is a little early for suckers if you've got a 14 week sativa cross, but they'll start coming on soon. Granted I am not a heavy smoker so I doesn't take much to keep me in the green. But I found that this was a good way to keep my hands off the big buds until they were ready. Hang in there, it's worth it if you do - Hope this helps.

Its week 9, not five, but i do understand what you mean. I'm going to be patient with it. I moved her closer to the light about a week ago or so, and she got burned. So i think she's at the ideal spot now, and her leaves are lightening up after the flush. So I guess we'll just see what happens.

However, I got some dry ice today. I think i'm going to hang a dispencer above the plant, and allow the gas to fall right down onto her. Its pure CO2. And its cold. So i wonder what will happen. I'll do some research first, and see if anyone has any input.

Dry ice is pure CO2. I'm not sure if any of you other growers are using it, but no one posted a reply to my idea about it so i tried it out. It turns out, that its ing awesome. Check out my pic.... You can see the vapor of pure CO2 which poured out of the bag down onto the plant. I shut the fan off, because I wanted the gas to filter down onto the plant, rather than circulate around the small area. Its enough CO2 to make me dizzy. So I left the room, and now like 5 hours later, its still a big block of frozen CO2, and its still pumping out plenty of gas.

I wonder how it will effect my buds. I was worried that they would get an overdose, but i'm not sure if thats possible.

Actually it is possible. Too much co2 will retard growth levels. If you let levels get way too high it can kill both people and plants.
