hi all.i just harvested 4 plants, all 9+ weeks flowering. i did the last week with straightwater (no nutes) my question is about drying. i live in a area that got 6" of rain in 1.5 days, and its humid/damp. i hung them first (1.5 days ) then i graded/ cut off most stalks. i have about 50% shrinkage so far. i tried one plants buds in plastic bags, it was still too moist.
so i have them all on a large door screen (elevated 3'with small fan blowing through). i want to ge tthem out of the garage soon,(smell/chance of being knocked over,ect). will my fan hurt the taste/potancy? it seems to help dry them slowly and u have been turning them a few times a day on the screen. its been like 24 hours of screen fan action (at night i turn off fan). how long before i try plastic bags again? for final storage/curing? i have 8 brown grocery bags that i use to move or store the buds if i have to move stuff.
4 strains hindu cush, romulin, shaman(train wreck), and silver haze. all started from mediacal marijuana dispencery clones. i made over 30 more clones during veg cycle (i kept 4 gave 26 back to otheer medical growers)

i think a fan would help but i don't think you want the fan blowing directly on them you can tell when they have dried good enough for the brown bags when the stems snap easy when bent(from what i read) maybe someone else can get more in to detail for you soon. hope this helps alil just my

Glass jars are the only way to go. Don't waste beautiful trichomes putting your hard earned buds in a cheap plastic bag. Keep the buds fresh, get a jar!

It'd be better not to have the fan blowing directly on the buds because it could direct dust or anything else in the air towards the buds, which wouldn't be good at all. Once they are dry enough to the point that the stems can snap with ease, don't put them in paper or plastic bags. Place them in glass jars that are airtight and place these somewhere dark--light and air degrade THC. Just open the jars every day at the beginning and check out the buds for any excess moisture or any signs of mold.

I always use mason jars. Dry them hanging from a grid till stems snap & then trim back as much stem as I can. put the bud loosely in mason jars & place in cool dry dark place. Pull the jar(s) out to turn them every day or two & make sure they aren't too damp or you could start to develope mold.

I hear the longer you let them cure in the jar the better, but never seem to be able to get past 2 or 3 weeks before I find myself indulging.

I hang mine upside down in a cool dark room. Once you can snap the stem, they go directly into mason jars. Open the lid once a day, ( I am sure that will be easy to do The longer they cure the better they get!

I have also in extreme emergencies placed some wet herb in a food dehydrater and poof in about 10 hours you have dried bud.

damp air is a bad thing when it comes to drying bud ..... a small fan to create air circulation, not directly on the buds .. off to the side to create a slight whirlwind within the space. big fat budds take a while to dry ... so don't jar them too soon .... at anything above 70% rH, dry time might be a week or more
