im about a week or so away from harvest, ithink, unknown strain, started as clones,
been flowering for 9 weeks now, 400wattHPS and 160watts of FLOROs. 5 plants .some of the buds have only 20-50% orange hairs,

i was wondering if i want to snip a few buds off and give them a dry and smoke, should I cut ends off,or the whole stem or what? what effect will this have?

You can try the lower buds/smaller buds. You can just cut the stems on the little ones. 60% OJ hairs is a good time to harvest is what I read on most threads and also other sites. Best of luck on the rest of the grow and havest ...

Sometimes it's better to take early buds from the top or middle of the plant. these buds normally finish up sooner than the lower ones, so taking them first gives the lower ones time to catch up.
