is there any way to tell if your plants ready for harvesting without a microscope?

A good rule of thumb in this case would be to harvest when 2/3-3/4 of the pistils have turned brown. This tends to provide an uplifting high. If you choose to wait past this point, you'll harvest buds that may have more of a couchlock, narcotic type high.

Notice how I didn't really commit to the quality. It's best to drop the $7.99 and buy the Radio Shack scope. With the scope, you can more accurately determine the correct harvest time.

hey MAO,

there really is no good way to judge plant rediness w/o checking out the trichs.

The pocket microscopes from radio shack are only around $10USD, have 60x-80x magnifcation, built in light and are perfect for scoping trichs.

Another thing to note is if you have really good vision and a magnifying glass (and big trichs) you may be able to see em with the naked eye. Even still, this is really hard and I personally use the RS microscope....it works very well.
