Question Q about harvesting indica
permalink

yeah, so i read somewhere that when 25% of the hairs on a indica have turned color the THC if higher and the stuff that gives the body high is lower, thats what i'm looking for, i dont really care much for the body high.

this is my first grow and i'm not really going to go out of my way to find the perfect time to harvest, so could somebody just tell me about how many weeks i should let it flower to get the high i'm looking for?

also does anyone know when the light cycle will change to 12/12 in the carolina?

thanks'

20% turned is a good up high for an indica. But honestly, the body high will still be there for sure.

12/12 late august maybe? not to sure on that.

I dont think u should harvest when 25% of the hairs have turned color. Actualy i dont think u should judge by the hair color but by the trich color. Get a magnifying glass/scope/whatnot capable of 20X or 30X or 50X (i believe radioshack sells one 50X for $10?). Take a close look at the trichs and when u see aprox 50% red ure good to harvest.

But i may be wrong, so check with someone else

Talkin about hair color, not resin color.

TsouLee - Your right about it being better to judge with a magnifying glass and to judge resin color, but i think the person wanting to know when to harvest wanted to quickest and easiest way to harvest. Eh, im kinda tired right now anyways... and i guess snappy...

I just said its best cuz i did the mistake of judging when to harvest by hair color and, well, it was too early

anyhow, i guess the best sign is when the buds have swallen?

PS: yeah i meant amber, but translation in my mother language is red, so...

That chart that mr. hyde posted is used to determine daylength. You'll first need to know your latitude.

I find, as an outdoor grower, that I have rarely had the proper weather to finish my crop as perfectly as I would like. Many things get in the way of that. Bad weather, frost, storms, mold, etc.
So... let's cross the harvest bridge a bit closer to the time. My guess is that you won't be harvesting until late October...
Time will tell.
Peace-
OD
