Here's the question. Does the trichrome become waterlogged if left in water too long? If so, how long is too long? Some makers believe the water should be poured off immediately (with time to settle of course). Others say you can wait a week. What do you think?

I thought the water had to be ice cold for the crystals to come off so i would think u would have to do it with in half an hour or the water would warm up..
Sory ive only made it once but we went threw 4 bags in about an hour adding ice each time..

What a great question! I've only made hash with cold water a few times but imo the longer things "settled" the more impurities ended up in my hash at the end. I wondered if OTHER bits of plant matter had time to to get waterlogged and sink as well.

I got better results NOT letting the water sit too long.....just my experience with it.

I don't know about leaving it in the water for a week, but I leave mine sit overnight for everything to settle down. The ice is cause it helps them break off easier. I like to put my trim in the freezer overnight and it helps them break off easier too.

Happy Growing

i keep my sugar trim in the freezer too, AC. And I use lots of Ice when I make a run with my bubble bags. I don't let it sit for longer than maybe 15 minutes or so

Keeping the TRIM in the freezer.....what a great idea....I never thought of that. Do you guys keep it in the freezer 24/7 and just take it out when you need it or do you put it in for a few hours (or overnite or.....) just before you're going to make some hash with it?

Thanks for all your input. I have a new theory I'm working out for water extraction hash. After I've tested it, I'll let you know about the results.

Within a few hours and it is enough. If I had an extra freezer or something I would keep it in there all the time, and never worry about any chance of mold or anything like that happening to it then.

Happy Growing
