OK Guys! I just talked to my Dad, and he will not be making any oil untill Wednesday. He did ask a few questions about the oil, and so far I can tell you this. *This info was relayed from Rick Simpson, to my Dad for him to share with all of us*...
The oil Rick makes is made from Medical Grade BUDS. Rick has had a few ppl use the oil they made with trim, but it WILL NOT have the same potency, or as quick of a responce/recovery time as the oil made from buds. He says the oil made from trim will HEAL, but it will take a little longer to see results, and you might have to take more of the oil? The oil made from trim should give us Visual Results of Healing skin areas, but instead of it working in as little as 3 days for a skin cancer, it could take up to 2 weeks with the oil made from trim? My Dad will be on an oil made from BUD ONLY, so we should be able to see results with the Diabetes and Blood Pressure within 2 weeks. By 30 days, he should be cured? Thats what they are saying anyways! So I thought that was an important bit of info, incase someone will be preparing the oil for a life threatening ailment. Just be aware that the oil from trim will work, but not as fast as the oil made from bud. Jack Herer is a testiment to that. He started his oil made from trim. While it cured his diabetic sores and ulcers on his legs, it was not doing what Rick said it should have been doing with his over-all health. Once Rick realized that Jacks oil was from trim, he made Jack make a new batch using GOOD BUD. Within the 1st 30 days, this oil has Jack Herer a True Believer. He is now promoting this oil all over California. Everything on Jack has been imporoving since starting this oil from bud...Even brain activity that was damaged after Jacks stroke. Jacks speach is even improving! This is HUGE for the research that needs to be done with our brains! Seeing as how the medical Profession claims damaged Brain Cells can't be fixed? So lets keep our fingers crossed and hope everyone see's some amazing things! I will keep everyone posted! Please make sure to specifically state if you are using trim or bud or both as this can effect our recovery time!

my backyard thought of the day, is can i make a centrifuge at home out of something pupuguru, i thought a modified kids bike,

with sample cylinders on the spokes.

i can chop my trim, get it somehow liquid, centrifuge out the stem, leaf and trichs into different layers,

In the lab, if i drop hash into alcohol, will that separate the oil?

Alcohol would seem a safer solvent than petrochemical type ones. thanks nigel

Interesting approach, using a centrifuge in oil production. And a homemade centrifuge at that; doing something of that nature would be quite impressive. I'm not very familiar with that level of technology, so I can't help you there. However, I am familiar with the various solvents, and alcohol works pretty well. You can use Everclear grain alcohol (which is 96% pure alcohol) as the solvent, and I've heard that it works well.

I have friends who used to make oil from their trim and bragged about how great it was and got me to make some (Boy, what a mess )
As much as they insisted how good it was (made with trim) I always suggested "What-If" you dedicated "x" number of plants to the processing of oil .. Whole plant.
They'd look at me as if I were crazy ... saying "Budz???? You wanna process the Buds??? I'd reply "Yes!" lmao They seemed to think that was unheard of, no one used buds for processing..
I told them if and when I got to the point where I had enough medicine I could afford to process whole plants I would dedicate 3 of my 6 allowed for that purpose. My thought was if the trim was so good the budz would be that much betterz. Guess I was right
They (to the best of my knowledge) still aren't processing whole plants where I someday would if I were to adventure into processing for oil honey or otherwise.

When you make hemp oil from high quality buds, the oil you get will be astounding. I'm sure oil of that quality could cure a skin cancer in a week or less, and terminal cancer in around two months. I think it's worth giving up some smoking in order to save a life!

For those of you who have watched the documentary "Run from the Cure", this should answer any questions about producing your own oil. I recommend that people grow their own hemp either in a small indoor grow system or outdoors. Growing it yourself will eliminate the high cost associated with buying hemp from drug dealers. The cost of hemp can vary greatly from dealer to dealer and so can the quality of the hemp. For anyone new to growing hemp a good book or video on the subject is a necessity.
Caution:
Oils that drug dealers sell can have many contaminants and often little or no THC. From my experience, most hemp oil available on the street should be avoided for medicinal use. Make your own oil or have someone you trust produce the oil to assure a very pure, high quality oil is produced.

How much to make and take?
One pound (500g) of bone-dry hemp buds will usually produce about 2 ounces (55 - 60 mL) of high-grade oil. This amount of oil will cure most serious cancers; the average person can ingest this amount in about three months. This oil is very potent so one must begin treatment with small doses. A drop of oil about half the size of a grain of rice, two to four times a day is a good beginning. After four or five days, start increasing your daily dosage very gradually. As time goes on the body builds a tolerance to the oil and more and more can be taken. In cases where people are in a great deal of pain, I recommend that their dosage be quickly increased until it kills the pain. High quality hemp oil will stop pain even when morphine is not effective. The oil can be applied to external injuries for pain relief in minutes.

Will I get high?
Following the dosage previously described, many people can take the full treatment and never get high. In regards to hemp, getting "high" is a joke, even if a person does take too much oil the effect wears off quickly and no harm is done. No one has ever died from the use of hemp medicine.

Will I become addicted?
Hemp oil does not cause your body to crave more. It is non-addictive, harmless and effective for practically any medical condition.

Is this the same as hemp seed oil?
No! This is hemp oil, made from the bud and small leaves of the hemp plant. It is the essential oil of the hemp plant. Health food store sells oil made from hemp seed that is often mislabeled as hemp oil. Although seed oil is very beneficial, it does not contain enough THC to have any effect on cancer and other serious illnesses.

Are hemp and marijuana the same?
The word marijuana is one of over four hundred slang terms used worldwide to describe the cannabis and/or hemp plant.

Are all hemp plants the same?
When buying or growing hemp, procure a strain that has the highest possible THC content. To energize someone suffering from depression, I recommend a good Sativa strain. For most other medical conditions, I strongly suggest that Indica strains be used. Indicas relax a person and provide them with more rest and sleep.

How do I use it?
High quality hemp oil can be vapourized, ingested or used topically. Add the oil to creams and salves for external use.

can someone please explain to me why trim oil is supposed to be less potent than bud oil? I am just saying if you are only extracting pure THC wouldn't the potentcy be the same... pure is pure right? wouldn't trim just be a smaller yeild of THC, not lesser quality? Just a thought.... Answer if you got some knowledge....

I believe trim has much less THC than the buds, so the oil is lower quality. It's the same concept as if you tried to make the oil from mid-grade. It would be a lower yield and a lower quality.

i wouldnt think trim oil is any less potent, maybe less of it but should be the same stuff.

possible the trichs on the leaves dont mature like the ones on the buds? i dunno...
