Discussion wiil be both towards finding effective ways to extract oil, and thoughts on how to do it on a large scale.

No idea is too ludicrous, no plan too large or complex; we want to make production of oil safe and easy.

First things first is we need to compare extraction methods. I will volunteer to do this.

I'll compare: naptha, butane, iso and anything else that you guys can think of that I can get my hands on.

Find out what extracts the best and most pure way. RS was thinking Naptha, but I've had wonderful experiences with butane.

How about oil compared to tincture? Same qualities?

OK The Chemistry part is WAAAAY Over my head, so I feel honored to follow along with some pro's! One thing to think about....And I dont even know if this makes sense???
OK So there are Polar and Non-Polar solvants, Right? Rick used Naptha, and Iso, Right? From what Im reading, the butane ONLY extracts to the THC and not the other 60 or so canabinoids? It was my assumption that the naptha and iso extracted EVERYTHING? Am I correct? This is just a concern I was waondering about seeing as how we dont fully understand what heals us (THC alone, or ALL the canabiniods combined?) I do know that pure THC was extracted for the clinical tests on the brain tumors...But what about the diabetes and blood pressure and numerous other illnesses we will be working with....Do we need all the canabinoids in the oil, or JUST THC?

High, Will you be doing GC/MS testing to determine solvent residue, heavy metals, etc etc . Will you test to see what % of which cannabinoids are present?

my wife is a chemical engineer so i may be able to get her to help with this if she has the time i use iso 99% i have not tried any thing els except butane i liked the iso better my self easier to work with ,for me anyways but as always im open to the best way of doing things

hey pupuguru do you live in canada? ,and my second question is were do i get testing like that done? and does rick test his oil? the stuff that im making the oil out of is organic and i belive it to be very safe consumption,do you think testing it then would still be a very important part of the process? i want to do this right so these are very important questions ...peace

High, No, I live in Amsterdam. Hoping your wife was the test perso ("my wife is a chemical engineer so i may be able to get her to help with this if she has the time") As far as I know, no one has tested as I am asking about. Why do it? You can't know for sure what is working unless you know exactly what it is. Not a question so much of safety, but knowing what works for what. We know different things work for different conditions, right? But which cannabinoids or combinations work to heal cancer, what types of cancer was it? "I want some JUST LIKE THE OTHER ONE THAT WORKED". See what I mean? What do you say to that person who needs something to hold on too?

High, Cool news, What is going to be compared? Will you compare % of cannabinoids, solvent residues, other contaminants or what? What level of testing will be possible, 100 nanogram, 1000 nanogram? Can you get tech grade ether, it is good also.
