HI all,
I have been making oil using Iso alcohol. The process works wonderfully except for one problem. The oil reduces down to a nice amber tar. Is there any way to get the oil just a little less thick. I have heard grain alcohol or something like that but that seems extreme. I remember when I was much younger seeing a vial of this and it had the consistency of a thick motor oil. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

when everythink goes right in my lab the canna-oil slides in the vial like fresh honey when gently warmed in the palm if it's slightly too sticky, but not hash-hard a boost of gentle heat from steamy water or the brush of a lighter should help

thicker tar-like putty happens when it's been overheated or going stale from exposure to air

i try to watch the finally reduction closely over steamy, but not simmering water-- tilting the bowl frequently to ensure it evaporates evenly and slowly and shiny-- as it begins to overheat, the oil starts to lose it's shine with the thinnest layers on the bowl bottom showing dull

that's when i want to immediately remove from heat and slide it around to mix gently before popping it into the freezer
