My grow is constructed around the need to reuse and recycle as much as possible, to cut my costs, and reduce impact on the household. I like using the coir mixed with clay pellets, because they are easy to 'wash' and separate from the roots and each other. I use 2.5 gal water jugs, because we have to 'import' drinking water anyway. And I got a cute little worm farm, to which I feed all my useless stems/foliage, even the ashes from my dosemeter (my partners in crime!). They also get the best orts, and love it when I clean the fridge...even those 'science projects' in LIVING color! What they can't handle goes out into the compost pile near the kitchen garden. The corn and tomatoes recieve the runoff from watering my ladies. | ||
