![]() | How's everyone? This weekend i plan on testing a few ideas and waz wonderin if someone had any info. I want to make honey oil from lefover leaves from my last grow, i read that this can be done using petrolium ether. The plan is to use a 1 inch diameter copper pipe about 2 feet long, cap one end and poke a hole big enough to indert the tip from an ether canister, the other end has a filter that i plan on making using layered metal screens. You empty the can of ether in the tube, and let it drip out the other end. The ether is to evaporate and leave behind a nice yellow oil Mmmmmmm My question however, does anyone know if ether will completely evaporate, or will it leave a residue? Is presurised ether mixed somehow? And is there a process to refine the resulting oil? I'll be using the shed with an open door OUTSIDE... This sh** is flamable folks. BIG TIME... highonline.

Pure ether should evaporate out, but I would advise that you use ethanol. Just for the fact that ethanol is not terribly toxic if ingested, like ether, butane, and many other petroleum distillates. I use ethanol since you can drink it, and I know that it eveporates completely. Also, you can find pure ethanol pretty easily, just find some 200 proof grain alcohol. ![]() good luck!!

![]() | Problem with grain alcohol is that i can't find it here. The closest thing is in Quebec and that's many hours drive away. I've experimented with butane, worked faily well, but one needs primo bud shavings for it to be worth while. Ether can be found in every hardware store around. Same as butane. As long as the danger factor is reasonable, don't you hate those horizontal trips to the hospital, i know i do.! highonline.

It just seems strange they won't sell ehtanol anywhere, but you can get ether and butane at every hardware store. You may want to try and order it from a scientific supply place, maybe in the states. I know that Nurnberg Scientific carries it. Maybe a better idea. I just don't like to play with ether, but if you can get it to evaporate all the way, you should be good. Maybe heat it a little longer than normal, and let it sit for a while before smoking it. ![]()

usually the ether they sell in hardwear stores and auto outlets is starting fluids. names like "liquid fire" and "boomsquirt" should lead you to believe that this **** is pretty ****ING FLAMABLE. i use it in my spud gun, and if anyone else has discovered how much fun launching potatoes hundreds of feet, i would definetly suggest using ether. the thing is, these ethers are by no means pure. many other completely different and reactive elements are in there. try to get some from a medical supply store. this will be pure. and if i were you, id spring for the 3 inch p.v.c. you want it wide and short, rather than long and skinny, or the extraction will need more ether. you can and probably should use propane or butane (without heptane) the fewer the chemical compuds put into your smokeables the better. all sorts of **** can react with pvc to create stuff you do not want to smoke. remember that.

How about Copper, you can get copper pipe for houses in all sizes. Properly cleaned out first of course. I would use glass, but were to get it, i might be able to take a flower vase and break the bottom out!??? I experimented with butane and very low grade leaf, the ratio of 10/1 is more like 20/1. I hope to get better results after harvest with good shake. Should one use the stems as well as the branches of the plant? Are they worth it? highonline.
