Introduction

I'm in a situation I believe most pot smokers get in now and again. I live in Texas where its a felony to grow so I don't. The market is saturated with cheap mexican dirt weed here. KB or home grown is 20 bucks a gram! Hash is anywhere from 5-10 bucks a gram but it hardly ever is available and even when it is it is not that good.

Solution

I've tried many things to increase potency and decrease harshness. I wasted about 4 ounces cooking the weed. I've tried Cannibutter, THC pills, etc. All without success of a good high. So I decided to use what I found on these forums and try and make some hash (it was successful).

Ingerdients:

7 grams of schwag
1 electric coffee grinder (a small handheld one)
1 panty hose
1 cup
1 plate
A few drops of water
A compression device

Directions:

1. Take your 7 grams of bud (stems, seed and all) and grind that while shaking it for about 3 minutes.

2. Put ground weed in cup making sure to get all the fine particles out of the grinder.

3. Place pantyhose over cup and hold eccess at bottom of cup (you can use a rubber band to hold the hose in place, but I just hold the panty hose in place). turn cup upside down over plate and start shaking holding the cup close to the plate. Shake until no more pot comes out of the cup.

4. Now you should have a little less than half of the product on the plate and half in the cup. Put the half in the cup away and save for those days you are poor... Using a credit card or whatever, scrape the droppings on the plate into the center. You now have uncompressed hash (have a bowl, I always test it).

5. Add just a few drops of water (3-4) and mix with the fine hash. It won't want to mix at first and this is a good sign of high THC content. Keeping on mixing until the hash wants to clump.

6. Transfer the uncompressed hash into a compression device. For now I just use a tin because I have not crafted my compression device yet (I will post pictures and plans of the device I make later today). Just compress it however u want.

Results

I get about 40-50% return in weight. You should be able to get 3 grams of hash out of 7 grams of bud. The smoke is smooth, not harsh, and the final product is about 3 times stronger than the bud itself. This is an economical alternative to buying home grown.

That makes no sense to me. Basically, you threw away half your pot and made hash with seeds that have ZERO THC in them..

You end up with a bunch of shake, which you just formed into balls with water. How does this get you higher?

Usually people extract the THC out of a bunch of weed into a small liquid(alcohol?), then soak their shake in that liquid. Then roll into nice hash balls. This way, you have regular weed shake soaked in THC--a good way to turn crummy bud into super high stuff.

Maybe im just high..

I wondered about this too. Even just fine grinding the weed produced a more smooth smoke. The reason for this IMHO is that surface area for heat is increased. Imagine how much THC is burnt off and vaporized because of the high heat. Now take all those THC crystals out of the plant material and add heat. More THC will be relaesed into the air...

The seeds and stems do conatiain THC. The basice behind the panty hose filter is that the plant material containing less THC will be strained away from the finer plant material and trichomes inside the plant. What you get is more potent (about 3 times as strong).

The leftover shake is less potent than the original weed so it did work...

I don't grow, never posess more than 2 ounces (changes charge in Texas), so large extractions are out of the question.

This works and applying a little knowledge you can see why. Just an alternative to smoking cheap bud if ya can't get alot and want better smoke for free...

by no means does this extract thc.... simply breaking up the weed and removing the seeds would have the same if not better degree of effectiveness in this situation... this is far from hash and sounds to me like you waste most of your weed by doing uncalled for things to it in order to achieve a "better high"

in your theory breaking up the weed seeds and stems "releases and seperates" the leaf material and thc leaving most of the thc in the finer of the two leftover products.... but in reality you chop seeds and stems into smaller pieces degrading the quality of the product and ultimatly dicreasing potency by smoking these seeds and stems along with the weed

this left over plant material contains far more thc than the seeds and stems in the weed therefor dicreasing potency by diluting the final product with garbage

Then tell me, why does a bowl of finer particals get me stoned when a bowl of courser particles just gets me a buzz.

FYI - there were about 10 seeds in the whole ounce and not many stems, you may want to remove these first... I look at the courser particles and its indeed mostly chopped stems and seeds. The stems and leaves contain THC secreting glands... So I use them too...

Stems have been shown to have a decent amount of THC, but seeds have zero--hence why we can send them through the mail. A good idea might be to de-stem your ounce and do a THC extraction on the stems... then soak your cleaned out buds with this juice for super weed.

You are correct it is not a THC extraction, simply a seperation of more potent particles in the plant material to make a stronger product. I don't see how this wastes anything. Just turns one high from bud into a better high and a worse high (if you smoke the leftover)...

If you guys were in my boat you'd be searching for that better high too using inferior weed in small amounts...

Call it whatever, hash, crap, bud, I'm smoking my schwag this way from now on...

Wrong... Seed producers have gotten in trouble in California with the law as their seeds and hemp products made from seeds contained too much THC...

I would have to save up a bunch of stems and never keep more than 56 grams of anything so I'm stuck with choppin the stems.

I would like to do a honey oil extraction, but that has to wait till I move to another state...

I made honey oil last night and mixed some with some of my chopped and sifted weed. All I can say is wow!
