Hi i did a simple isopropanol extraton a few times on 1.5 onces of leaf. I tried to get hexane ouldn't find it and usopropanol is what every one around my area uses to make oil. I left it in this big container and had to put it open in my well ventalated gerage, i dont have any thing to heat it up with outside, can i just let it evaporate or what would be my best bet? ive been trying to find a burner but dont really know what kind and have been having a hard time finding one. I hope some one can help me I dont want some thing bad to happen to my oil. thank you for your time.

You dont' want a burner... Get an electric hot plate, like the kind your grandmother used at thanksgiving to keep the peas warm... The boiling point for volatile solvents is usually pretty low.

well, i had some bad experience with isopropanol concernig taste, it made me high but it was just unsmokable because of its taste, i really don't know why the hexane is so difficult to find.
concernig maikng oil, NEVER put your oil on open flame, unless you're sucidable . be patient and wait it to evaporate, or you can use electric stove, but on very low level.

Hexane shouldn't be that hard to find if you're in North America.

Check out this link for a good source of Hexane recommended by stickeyfinger (honey oil expert) click on distributers to see who sells it where you live.

Hey man, just an idea. I use butane myself, it works great and its cheap. The oil is a nice gold and it hits ya

Good idea Schmoke - if you do want to use butane, check out stickeyfinger's Improved Butane Extractor.


Although I've read that Hexane will produce much more pure oil, so I'd only use Butane if you couldn't find any Hexane.
