Although I am still open to suggestions, my final design is pictured below. Particulars:

1. Six 3.5 " net pot positions.
2. 2 additional 3.5 " holes for maintenance plugged with a 1 cup tupperware container.
3. Three to five microsprayers (foggers did not work).
4. One or two jets spraying directly down to the reservoir surface to generate bubbles.
5. 1 min on 4 min off timer.
6. No bubbler (aeration done by spraying directly onto the water surface.
7. Test water depth with a dipstick.
