Great! An AeroSpring collection. Bring them on.

StOney: That black device next to the pump is your "Power head" bubbler. Correct?

The power head is used for aquariums to circulate and oxygenate the water.
I don't know how familiar you are with fish tanks but they are normally hooked to a tube that leads to a space under the gravel. They suck the water from under the gravel and up the tube creating a vacuum wich will pull the tank water through the rocks and filter it. I just had it lying around from a fish tank I no longer use (have lizards in there now ).

Here is a link to some power heads: http://www.petwarehouse.com/webstore...E?OpenDocument (*mine is the Penguin 1140)
They work awesome to keep the nutes circulating & oxygenated without that damn EEEEEEEEE!!! of an air pump!! I keep mine one 24/7 and as long as my main pump is off you can stand next to the closet and never hear a thing!!

JMHO..

Also my spray heads look just like thoese!! Except I 'popped' the red cap part off.

StOney: If you were to do it again, would you recommend just drilling small holes in the side of the PVC? This seems to be the same as using microsprayers and removing the spray head.

----------------------

Inside shot. On the left you can see some additional plumbing. I lowered the spray bar because the spray was hitting too high on the baskets and--more importantly--it was hitting the hole in the tote and leaking!

I want to prevent even the slightest leak without using sealant. My next modification may be to raise the spray bar above the basket bottoms; that is, between the baskets. Then place the sprayers on the underside of the horizontal PVC bar.

I apologize if this is starting to sound like construction but I want anyone who is considering this design to make the best choice for them.

The AeroSpring I built based on the above diagram leaked around the 'black riser plastic elbow.' One fix may have been to use teflon tape. Instead, I felt a redesign was in order.

I got rid of the black elbow. Then I raised the hole where the sprayer pipe passed through the tote. Finally I added a rubber compression ring. It works great.

Here are two additional designs.

Not really..
See I tried just the holes but I didn't drill them all at the same angle so water was kinda going every where but were wanted it to go. But when I put in the microsprayer base it focused the water into a tighter spray which hit the wall of the tub harder creating a better splash effect.

1. The new design incorporates Gimmikk's modification to remove one hole in the chamber. See the left side of the drawing.

2. It also uses a threaded adaptor and a threaded elbow to pass the pipe through the right side of the chamber. Using a black-riser-plastic elbow allows this to be screwed flush to seal against water loss. The added cost is minimal.

the original design's galvanized pipe fitting also causes alot of rust-like deposits, so the brass bushing is worth the search.

also, I've had two versions with a split lid - and which doesn't leak with the pvc around the inner perimeter - a short section of garden hose connects to the gate valve at the end of the pvc inside the reservoir - works fine !

until I can get the pictures together -- peace

Again, I hope xsdata doesn't mind but I found his bucket aeroponics setup on the Edge Forums and thought I'd include the design here.
