Hey there people! Just starting out in hydro - I have one more question (for now!) Is a PH up/down solution necessary when using the General Hydroponics Flora series with distilled water? With my soil grow, I adjusted the PH either with vinegar or hydrated lime, and it seemed to work well. Will they work in a DWC setup or am I better off spending the money for something like this: http://www.discounthydro.com/phadjust.asp Thanks! -Awake204 One more question ![]() What's the ideal temp range for the resivoir in a DWC system? Im sure this has been asked before, but I did a search and I couldnt find anything.

Yeah, I guess the PH adjustment stuff would only be an extra $20 or so...do you have to heat your resivoir to get to 21C, or is the heat from the grow lights enough? Im thinking in my closet 2'x3' closet with a 250W HPS, it should OK. This is unrelated, but was it you Adderpuff who posted that pic a while back, with that huge bud next to a computer keyboard for comparison? Sorry if it wasnt you, I could never find the post again and I wanted to show that pic to a friend, to show him what a 'real' grow produced ![]() Thanks, Awake204

![]() | Yes the ph up/down is necessary. It contains a buffer that makes it stable. If you use venegar, it will work at first but after a few hours your ph will go up again. After some time of this your nutrient solution will be all wacky and will need to be changed. This dosen't happen with hydro ph down because it is stable. peace ![]()
