I've done the search, still can't get a clear understandment.

I've been using the below TDS meter since veg cycle. Dropped it in the water and it broke. I never knew how to work it really, never callibrated.

I'm searching ebay and they have many meters cheap. Question is does it matter if the range is 0-999 or 0-2000? My tds readings were always above 1000. Is the tds meter subjective?

Since, as you say, you get many readings above 1000....then you obviously need to go for one that will read past 1000. Get the 2000.
