go to the store and buy some ph up and ph down, then add them to your solution and check the ph afterwards.

You should also note that PH up/down generally comes highly concentrated and should only be added in very small amounts.

Is also known as Potassium Hydroxide.

It easily burns the skin and is generally quite concentrate also so only add the up (Potassium Hydroxide) in small amounts....I often burn my skin with it so I know it burns the skin...

I find it difficult to measure the small doses, so I put 100ml of Ph up in a glass bottle, and add water to make 1 litre. It's now a 10% solution (of original) and a lot easier to measure. I keep the bottle in a cupboard just in case light affects it.
Try to get it from a hydro/garden store as the fishtank stuff is very weak.
