I am running 5 blueberry plants under a 250w metal halide lamp.

Nutes are 1/4 stength 5-0-1 hydro micro blast liquid.

I'm running a DWC 30 gallon tub with 4 bubblers

And i have them in baked clay pellets

I can't figure out why the leaves on two of the plants are turning yellow on the edges, and the first leaves they grew are wilting. The plants seem strong and the other three are lush and green with new growth starting on each. My ph seems pretty high but i don't know how accurate my tester is and i am afraid to put in too much ph down. Any information on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated. I also have the capability of adding an additional 400w hps to the second ballast would that help. thx for the input.

Yeah, better get a new ph tester! Without knowing if the ph is correct it's hard to narrow the problem. Ph is probably just too high and is locking out the nitrogen.

Without a tester its near impossible to tell, I have had yellowing from PH thats too acidic also. Another factor is your light, if the leaves at the bottom of the plant arn't recieving a certain amout of light they will be cannabilized by the plant itself and the energy redirected into more productive, upper areas.

Ok I finally got a good ph tester and brought the ph down to 7.0. The plants look like they are definitly looking greener but one of them is still yellow and its first leaves are starting to shrivel. Do you think that I have enough fertilizer in(5-0-1 at 1/4 strength) or should i add more because the nitrogen doesn't seem that high. Also what range should the water temp be in right now it is at a constant 72. Thx for the replies I really want the girls to grow up strong.

You might want to use something like a 5-1-1 instead, but give em a day or two to catch up and then see. Water temp sounds fine. But, ph at 7, still too high. I get my ph down to about 5.8. Check out Stoney's sticky in the nursery forum for a good ph graph.

Damn i didnt know that the ph was supposed to be that low. I was looking at the ph levels for soil not hydro. Thanks a ton, im supprised they all havnt shrivled up. So I lowered the ph to 6.0, hopefully that will answer some of the problems. Thanks again
