I'm using a soiless mix (sunshine mix 4) and need to know if I measure PH before or after nut app? My water has a PH of 5.8. Suggestions? | ||

 I do both. I check the pH of the nutrient solution before I feed it. And I check the pH after feeding when the medium has stabalized. Hope it helps... C.C.

| Depends on your water and your nutes. Do a pre and post check after adding nutes, and you're well on the way to tracking it down. Start by measuring before, add your nutes, and measure after (then correct if it's way off). The next time, you can correct the Ph first, then add nutes, and measure. You should be bang on then.

| Just as an aside, I usually wait for around 1 hour after mixing up a fresh tank of nutes,etc before taking final PH readings and adjusting, sometimes the water has chlorine in it which makes it go artificially alkaline, it drops after an hour or so I find.
