![]() | We built this about two months ago, now. It's been running in our closet for that time and we have some nice looking plants (http://www.hempcultivation.com/420/s...threadid=35881). These were the original plans, but after building it in that design it didn't work out as well as planned, so we did some re-designing.

Building 4" PVC Pipe (We used 3 56" pieces) 2 4" PVC Caps per Large Pipe (6 for us) 1/2" PVC Pipe (enough to go through larger PVC, through caps, and still have PVC sticking out on the end so you can connect it, and enough to connect the long tubes together to the pump) 1/2" PVC Connectors: 6 right-angle, 1 3 way, 1 4 way. Building Tools Drill 7/8" Bit Small Drillbit to make hole for sprayers Hole Saw - 3" for Net Pots, 2" for Drains PVC Glue - Use this whenever you connect pieces. PVC Epoxy Cement - for sealing connections. Running 15 Net Pots Pump for sprayers (Ours is 930gph... You could probably use lower) Sprayers (Hydro Store) Plastic tube that fits between the pump and PVC to connect them. I got this at the hydro store. 2 Tubs - one will be your reservoir For Training Shelf mounting brackets. You can find them in the hardware store. You generally screw them into a wall and then use hooks to mount shelves. We are only interested in the brackets that would go against the wall. They work well for tying purposes. Used the hole saw. Fairly simple. Just measure how an equal distance between them, leave half of that distance on each end (where the caps will go). Sprayers will go halfway between each of the holes and at the end of the tube outside the last hole on either side. Wash off all the extra little bits when you're done. A file and some sandpaper are useful for making sure there are no sharp edges.

Next we drilled holes in the end of the caps so that the sprayer-tube could go through. Had to measure the distance from teh outside edge of the tube so that we didn't cut through the side-wall of the cap. We managed to destroy a few caps previously not being careful about this. It will leak if you don't leave the wall intact. Don't put both caps on until you are ready to put in the sprayer tubes, otherwise you will have to stick your hands through the hole and get the sprayers in that way. It is far more difficult - trust me. Put on only the end where the drains will go - you need that on all the way so the drains are even. More on that later. You'll need to use PVC cement on these connections once it's all together.

Next we're going to drill drainage holes. These will go directly over the reservoir tub and drain into the tub. We had originally intended to have a drainage system - it couldn't keep up with the pump. These are 2 inch holes cut with a hole saw. Cut them all the way through - the picture only shows the first layer being cut away.

they will look like this.... In the bathroom after washing them again. Washing each piece at every stage makes it easier to get all the pieces out. If you choose to wait until later and do all of the washing at once you may have problems with filings clogging the sprayers - fixable but a pain in the ass.

A strange-angle shot of how it will eventually be put together. It fits the width of the screen better than if I rotated it. Or something like that.... Anyway, it is as you get it...

Here are the sprayers once they're put together inside. You could see the tubes in the picture above without sprayers. We had one cap on the end of the large tube. We drilled holes evenly spaced on the 1/2" tubing to put the sprayers in. The sprayers are threaded. You can drill the right size hole for them just like you would drill a hole for a screw. Take the sprayer, choose a bit, put the bit in front of the threads on the sprayer. You want to be able to see the threads around the edge of the screw but not to see the center where the threads come off. Try starting with a smaller bit and then enlarging carefully until the sprayers fit right. I would have a picture, but something happened to it and I don't seem to. I'm not quite sure why. Once the sprayers are on the tube and the tube is in we added the second cap, closing it up. Last edited by Him--; 11-01-2002 at 11:45 PM..
