I heard duck tape ..Vinyl Plumbing tape.. But what works the best don't want NO algea in my first grow... Also I read that someone was thinking of putting algea remover for fish tanks into there system, WILL that work ????  | ||

 | DuckTAPE is a definate must have.... Alge is solved fairly well with H2O2, Fish would be more fore a asthetic look i think, but I have heard of it | ||

Bucket I heard led isn't reccommended... And somew glue can have chemicals that will effect the plant.... WHats the best hot glue from a glue gun or something else ... so its not perminant.... THANKS AGAIN | ||

| If you're going to use duct tape for blacking out a bucket, you need to put on at least 3 layers. Duct tape transmits a surprising amount of light... Your green airline will be just fine. Remember that plants (such as algae) can't use green light- they reflect it, which is why they look green. Therefore any light that makes it through the airline will be green, and ok. As I said in another thread around here, I twist tie on some large washers or nuts onto my airlines. Seems to work just great.

| black vinal spray or tape. black buckets  cardboard wrapped around bucket just tape her down. give your bucket a layer or two of black or the silver vynal tape then you could even line your bucket with mylar

|  Black Paint will it stay or peal??????? Duck tape 3 layer man thats alot, is there a better way PHREAD????? The air stones r fine with washers and stuff like that, what would u say to a glue gun cuz i don't want them to stay in that bucket permanatly.... THANKS GUYS... | ||

| If I need to do something like this I usually use scrap black & white poly- check out the cabinet res here. It's a bit down the page. I just make sure to overlap the poly over the duct tape (ie, the tape you see through the plastic is covered on the outside by poly). Do you mean gluing the airstones down, or the washers to the airline? Don't glue the stones down- remember that they are a consumable- you need to replace them as soon as their flow diminishes too much. I change mine every month or two.

10 dollars US at menards. No light gets in. 1 roll does 3 buckets and lids.
