hello and thanks in advance I'm growing dp fem power plant
in a dwc with remote res and about every two days my ph
keeps dropping into the mid 4's and it's causing my babies
leaves to droop and burn has anyone one else had this
problem and if so can you please help i'll be starting my 12/12
in about a week and want to stop this problem before i start to
bear fruit also i'm already using ph down and was wondering
should i use ph up also or would this be a problem thanks

I am no hydro expert, but from what I have read it seems to me if you are adding ph down to your nute solution that is dropping your ph to those low numbers.

Seems to me you should use the ph up to bring it to your desired range then keep monitoring the ph level and add the appropriate product to keep the ph where you want it.

If the number gets too high, and ph down. If it gets too low add ph up. Simple.

You may need to use a little less h down and gradually reduce the ph of the bubbler solution. You shouldnt use ph up to bring the ph back up especially if you have used ph down to reduce it, two acids used like that is not sa good idea for the plants.

I thought ph up would be a basic solution and would neutralize the excess acid in the nute solution. No, huh?

Aren't they designed to be used in the fashion I described, or no?

I tend to see it as a battle of the acids and the result meeting the rootzone in a not so desireable way.....simply too much acid in the tankl We can also get precipitates from say dropping the ph too low with ph down then attempting to correct it by adding ph up...its much better to dump the whole tank and start again rather than adding more acids to solution.

But, again isn't ph up sodium hydroxide or something like that which is a basic solution and not an acid?

When you mix an acid and a basic soulution you get a neutral salt, I believe. Too much of that probly isn't good for the girls, as you suggested.
