how are they lookin
can remember how old they are the little one is about 4 or 5 weeks old
the big one is mebe 10 weeks. i was gonna put em into flowering but was just wondering if everythings alrite and if there is any chance of a male ??

i made one of the resivoir or watever out of a 1.25L bottle and stuck an air blowy thing in there and wala a mini bubbler plus tape and stuff.

also my camera isnt great but i will try and take better pics.

i needa run down to the local hydro shop and get me some bud formula nutes.

then you'll see who's packin a sausage in there...

oh yea - get a bigger res. maybe a rubbermaid bin....you're gonna want more volume for nutes/water otherwise keeping up with those plants in flower is gonna be hell

Hi AusToker,

Lots of plants show their sex before 12/12, if you let them go long enough. It sounds like your's should be showing by now.

After much searching I found this. I'm not real wild about the male picture because I've had one's that look like that be female. I always wait for a couple of those balls to grow before I'll throw a plant away as male.

i don't think you could call that a reliable determination of what the plant will produce (as far as sensi, male seeds, or a hermie)

i think the only way to tell is to put the plant (or a part of the plant) under 12/12...unless its an autoflower strain....but its gotta be flowering for you to tell what the fruit is gonna be

Every Plant I have grown has showed sex prior to a 12/12 lighting. None have been auto flower. These strains have been White Widow, Northern Lights, Ak47, Chronic, Bag seeds, and a Red from Hell. I don't know if it's just the way I grow, nutes or the amount time I veg (usually no more then 6 weeks Max but usually only 3 weeks) that makes this happen.

3 times from 3 different strains I have cut clones to sex under 12/12, but before they showed their mothers showed preflowers that were correct<that's a dumb way of saying it.

The 2 strains I have right now showed almost on their 1 month birthday, both strains...Ak47 and Chronic. The clones matched their sex but a week later under 12/12 which gave me the 1 week jump on the rest of the clones.

I have a 24/0 light schedule under 520 watts CFL.

So light is right, time is right but these ladies are not embarrassed to show in in the light.

well, my point is that it might be a good hint but isn't a reliable way to tell the sex of a plant...while it may have worked for you i am sure that SOME plants that show female preflowers can end up being hermies...

Yea Fish any female can Hermie...I didn't think that was the point. As for sexing all the sexed clones in the world can Hermie as can any mother showing preflowers. That is a constant concern. But I have found that when a plant shows preflower and it's a female, that if I don't throw it against the wall, stress it with nutes, lighting, and trimming it will be a female plant. But of course if I want a Hermie I can beat the crap out of it and make it turn for the worst.
