DWC 5 Gallon (5th and final attempt)
permalink

Hey guys so im back again, now with my fifth try at getting the DWC right, all my other trys have failed but im proud to say this is lasting longer then any other one so far.

I am about 2.5 weeks past the seedling stage and have a pretty decently sized bushy plant. I would like to hear peoples inputs on to wether the plant looks really healthy at this point and some tips or anything that will help keep this baby growing.

Im using a 600W HID, i was down to my last seed so i hope this turns out female.

As for nutes im using DNF Grow A and B first week .5 ML, 1st water change 2ML 2nd water change 2ML. changed water every 8 days. Ph stays between 5.8-6.3 and temp is staying below 68%. Changing water bottles in and out everyday to keep temp cooler in rez.

Here are some pics of the plant

You guys think i should take clones to determine sex or will i risk ruining the plant, should i just wait it out, any thoughts on when i should switch to bloom? any other opinions or recomendations are more then welcomed.

The structure looks a little different than what I'm use to.

Some of the leaves look a bit curled and I notice a couple splotches of burn but I think it look very healthy and green.

Keep up the good work.

I would wait to take clones and determine sex from the pre-flowers.... but that just me.

Pulling the net pot out every day to add ice seems like a bad idea to me. I am all for cooling your reservoir, it's just how your going about it.

It wont kill your plant to lift it up a few times when it's small, but you won't be able to do that a few weeks from now without doing damage. I don't lift my baskets ever, I can't see any good coming from it.

I agree that you should clone every plant you make from seed. This one might be a winner, it would be nice to have good clones while still in veg.

What do u suggest then if i shouldnt be lifting the netpot daily. I dont have much other options. I think the 2l bottle might start damaging the roots also cause it floats at the top even with fish weights in it.

Rumple u think its a good time to take clones or should i wait. I have no idea how to take clones is there any way that the plant will die if i cut off 2-3 clones, ive been reading growfaq to learn how to clone i have the rooting hormone and everything its just a matter of making the cuts.

rumple doenst my plant look condensed for its age? or am i just getting ahead of myself.

I suggest getting the only solution there is. A chiller. If every attempt is costing you x amount of money.... when do you think a chiller will have paid for itself? 7failed attempts... .10?

Plant look great though.... really bushy, short, and dense. I like it! Love to see that growth continue like that into flower. You'd have a nice looking plant!

vpur if i wasnt completely broke, and out of work im revovering from a cornea transplant i would look into a chiller now its just not possible.

heres another question ive only been adding 2ml of solution per gallon, and im about to do another water change probably monday or tuesday. Is it time to go full strength like the bottle says at 5ml per litre or leave it as is ?

I don't think you need a chiller for that grow. I dont use one in my three bucket grow operation.

Your plant does look a bit short to start flowering. But I don't know what your height limits are.

Taking clones will not hurt it much. At most it will stop growing for a day or two.

thanks again rumple,

I think the rez will get too warm without chilling it somehow, But when i switch to bloom it might be okay because it should cool down enough when lights go out.

It seems very short to me also its not even a foot and has been growing for a bout a month i don't really have a height restriction the room is about 9 feet.

I just added another air pump and air stone i figure another pump won't hurt.

I want to find out if its male or female thats why i want to take a clone... should i take it from closer to the bottom or top ? placing them under a dome under florcesents straight to 12/12 will work or do i have to let them reroot first in the rockwool?
