![]() ![]() | The little hole was a failed attempt to put a fishing bobber on a piece of dowel for a water level meter. The larger hole is where I use an automotive oil change funnel thingie that's like 2 feet long (would make a nice witches cap on halloween). Mine are sitting on the old white 5 gal. buckets (using similar platforms) so the spigots can fully drain into a waste 5gal.bucket. So far, my kids stay short enuf that doesn't make me run out of headroom. I keep another 5gal bucket of RO water bubbling so my daily refills are not stressful to the babies, and do a full flush and refill every sunday. Just to make sure I know there is no build-up or nasty stuff...

![]() ![]() | I must be "The Cooler". Everytime I post, the thread dies ![]() Actually, if your using those little blue stones, (end of your finger size) and too much tubing, they will float up in a 5 gal bucket. The air filling the hose and stone will give it bouyancy. The larger stone pictured won't do this. Mostly it was just for 'neatness', keeping it centered and the hose out of the roots.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've noticed that before. Everyone is posting like crazy and as soon as I post that's it, the thread is dead. Yeah I wasn't thinking about the tiny air stones.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I had to say that I have never seen an air stone float either. Several Bubbler configurations secure the air stone. I assume that the designer wants to keep the air stone at a particular spot to direct the bubble stream in an 'optimal' position below roots. ... Oh, tiny air stones. Never mind. ... Most know that there is a root-based, frothy beverage that, when you add ice cream, floats. But that is for after harvest. It has no significance to this discussion whatsoever.

Any information from us in the future should be categorized as having come from....yes.....a stoner. A couple of pics to see how the buckets are doing so far.
