2' x 3' tray, anyone?
permalink

Im planning on building a 4'x4'x7' cab in which I'd like to put two 2'x3' tables side by side with a foot of moving room in the front. I've looked everywhere and seen about every size of table.. 22"x22", 2'x2', 3'x3', 2'x4', etc.. but the ONLY 2'x3' tray I could find is attatched to the incredibly expensive turbogarden (which Im not spending $500+ on two of them).

Does anyone know where I can find a reasonably priced 2'x3' tray or maybe even the tray off of the turbogarden unit?

Thanks anyone for the help!

You can make trays out of utility tubs from Lowe's. They're black, 2'x3', about a foot deep and sold near the bags of concrete, for about $15.

Like this. Just drill holes for fill and drain fittings, and I raise the other end with a board laying across the table to slant the tray so more water drains out.

That's an awesome find, healer. Love finding stuff like that at non-grow stores.

LordK, forgot to mention, Worms Way was part of Operation Green Merchant launched by the DEA back in the late 80's, where they watched and investigated anyone getting things shipped to them from certain grow stores...I know were talking 20 years ago, but according to the DEA website the operation is ongoing...tons of people get things shipped from them with no problems and say it was only long ago you had to worry, but who would want to be that one guy/girl to prove them all wrong, right? I would find one close to you and go pick it up, if the util. tub doesn't work for you.

Those trays are just under 24" wide, and just under 36" long, at the outside edges. My pots are approximately 6" square. 15 of them will fit in one of those trays, though I usually only have 12. The trays are more like 8" tall rather than a foot. I hope they work for you, Lord K.

Yikes, Hydrolized. I get almost all of my supplies in person now but years ago lived where I had to order almost everything, and got several shipments from WW.

Did you go to a Lowe's and look near the bags of concrete? They're sold for mixing that and have a sticker with a picture of horses eating out of them and other uses. I asked a store employee for utility tubs once and described them but he had no clue what I was talking about. Someone online had to tell me to look by the concrete bags for me to find them, but they've always been there every time I've looked.
