First off I Nute my plants every watering from day one of being put in the pots. Secondly I don't flush till harvest. These are just things I do not guidelines or rules. I use Fox Farms Hydro Nutes and follow their Hydro feeding schedule to the letter. I also use the soluble tripack. I have yet to see burn on any of my plants and since I stopped PHing my water I have had no problems at all. Here are a few pics of my new babies at one week old.

This is exactly why I started this thread. It is a place where hempy growers can discuss there problems and successes with other hempy growers. And it gives noobs a place to go and try to figure out what they are doing wrong. And a place where Hydro and soil old timers can come to help decide if they want to give hempy a shot. Keep up the GREAT WORK guys and gals.

It's nice to get feedback from other hempy growers.

I wanted to get some thoughts on feeding.

What type of water due you use? I shell out the extra coin for distilled water so I don't bother with pHing it. I am not sure about using tap water.

What nutes do you use? What formula do you use to mix? And what's your feeding schedule?

I know Cajun uses FF. I use General Hydro Flora-3 Part, mixed according to the bottles formula, and I feed every two days until I see runoff from the bucket.

I have been thinking about going with a lighter formula because of the burn I saw with my last grow. And it is about time for me to buy more nutes so I am considering trying something new. Any thoughts?

I use canna terra at 50% strength with spring water (200ppm) with unknown ph
I water when the bucket feels light, it's that easy

14 day veg, 60 day flower 400 mh - soil hempy

I have grown several strains in hempy buckets and find that it is really strain dependent for both the nutes & pH balancing.

I use reverse osmosis water which comes out with a ppm of 14 & pH of 6.5. I add MagiCal just because there is no calcium in the water.

The Black Widow I'm growing right now is a magnesium hog too.

I also use the GH 3 part, but don't use any grow. I just use Micro to Bloom in a ratio of 1:2 a la Lucas Formula. But I can't use the Lucas Formula - it's too strong - my plants will burn.

I also add PK 13/14 during flowering - 2.5 ml for the first 3 weeks & 5 ml (per gallon) for the following weeks.

So, my current formula for the late flowering Black Widow is 0-4-8 + 10 ml Magical + 5 ml PK 13/14 pH'd to 5.7.

I pH my nute solution with this strain because it showed in the plant when I didn't. It really needs to have mg available.

If I didn't adjust my nute solution, the pH is 6.2, which is acceptable for a lot of strains - just not this one.

Also, my feeding schedule varies with the plant growth (and hence how much she drinks) and I mix nutes with every watering.

Right now, my plants in their final homes get watered (and fed) every three days during veg, every other day for a while in flower, and then daily the last several weeks of flower.

I was thinking about trying some Black Widow and with that breakdown now i know what I need when I do. I use plain tap water. I find that my FF nutes take the PH down to below 6 after adding them but i don't remember where exactly.

I just started some White Widow seeds tonight that will be going into the buckets soon.

Cheese, any suggestions? I just started reading your Black Widow journal, but just wondering if there is anything I should watch out for, or any tips for getting the best results with these strains.

The best advice I can give regarding White Widow is that she is a magnesium hog. I grew WW as my very first crop & I took clones of clones for a total of 6 crops.

I use MagiCal (or CalMag+) every feeding at 10 ml per gallon of water. I also keep a spray bottle of Epsom salts (1 tablespoon/gallon of water) and foliar feed them through veg. (I never spray during flower!)

She is a light feeder and will burn easily - I've burned more than one.

I just started adding PK 13/14 the last few grows (it is a bloom enhancer) and I'm pleased with the results. I wanted to try the liquid & dry KoolBloom, but the PK 13/14 is what my hydro shop carries instead.

I use tap water and canna coco A/B and work up to 12 ml/gal over the first four weeks of flower and then start cutting back down. I use blackstrap mollasses starting at week 4 at 5ml/gal and Pk 13/14 once. I still pH everything and use GH up and down but don't tend to need much very often. I follow the instructions on the pk 13/14 bottle that say only use once three weeks before harvest didn't know you could use it that much but thanks bluecheese maybe I'll try it out.
