Hello everyone, I have a ?? how often do I water my 4x4 Rockwool cubes when I switch to my Hydro setup and how long do I let the water run on the 4x4 rw cubes. I still have my 6 plants in a passive setup right now under 400watt matel halide lights 18" away from the top of the plants. I was told to run the water for 15 minutes at a time 3 times a day on the plants. I was thinking to myself that this might be to much water for the plants. If anyone know the right amount of water I should use could you please post back thank you in advance.Peace!!

hi
im just bringing this thread back to life because the oriiginal poster asks a question about a problem i also have.

how many times and for how long should the drippers being spraying water on the rockwool slabs?

i tried 4 times a day at 15 mins each and they nearly drowned

3 times a day at 15 mins wasnt much better

2 times a day at 15 minutes has improved things, 60%, but the whole plant lacks vitality and still a little dropping.

so that leavess ONCE a day for 15 minutes.

would 3 times a day for 5 minutes be better?

oh boy, i need help here guys

Phil_Two: Hey bro, I'll be more than glad to help out, but a little more info might be needed.. How old are your plants? How big are they? What kind of system are they in, (aero, dwc), and are you using any other media like hydroton rocks (the things that look like cocoa puffs)

Generally you don't want rockwool to stay too wet. I try to keep my rockwool dry, especially once roots are popping out of the bottom, once that happens, the rockwool shouldn't be getting wet anymore. I hand water my rockwool until roots pop through the bottom. I only water when it's drying out though. Anyways, hope this helps some, PM me if you need anymore help. Take it easy and good luck

If I had 4x4 rockwool cubes in an aerospring, and I had the pump running 24/7 with the spray hitting the bottom of the cups, would this be overwatering or would this be ok?

I believe in a aerospring you want the air pumps on 24/7, there is no water flow. Check some of the journals though to be sure.

Lots of love,
