| Hello, need a little help okay some of my plants are doing stange things. 1 of my plant is yellowing and looks like it is dying around the edges but new leaves are still growing in. I got another plant that is very green and it is curling under like a Ram hornes but it to is still growing new leaves too, but the plant is much shorter than the other ones. I got another plant that is curled upwards at the tips of the leaves and the tips are brown but this plant is also still gowing new leaves. I was thinking that it could be from the light being to close to the plants, the lights are 18" to 17" from the plants. The reasons why I say that it might be the lights is because the plants that are very tall and healthy are the ones that are curled upwards at the tips. If anybody have any suggestion please fell free to do so. Thanks in advance for the help. Peace!! Bud [This message has been edited by LoveBud (edited April 26, 2000).] | ||

| Are you using fertilizer? because if they are curling really bad it might mean your giving them too much fertilizer. I cant answer your question about the color because i grow mine outside & have never had that problem but my guess would be the light too. | ||

Bud

Hello, I am not sure if this is the correct solution to your problem, but from reading it I can make a guess. A lot of my plants had a very similar situation. The plants would grow very heathily, but the bottom set of leaves would eventually turn yellow, curl up and die. This is completely natural for my plants because I am talking about the cotyledons (the two round leaves that form before any other leaves). They will eventually die. I am not sure if those are the leaves you're talking about, but as a plant matures the older leaves sometimes naturally die. In that case don't worry. But the other situation could be that you're overfertilizing, or underfertilizing, or possibly your light (not as likely as the other scenarios). I hope this helps. | ||
