What are you growing in? If rockwool or lavarock you don't want any soil or soilless mix on the roots. RW is a good starter cause you can transplant into soil, soilless, lavarock or RW. Vermiculite is good, be careful not to damage the roots when you transplant. Soil or soiless for themselves works.

I take it you're starting the seeds right in the RW? Just soak it overnight. Remember RW doesn't contain any nutes, so as the babies root you'll need to slowly introduce them to ferts. RW tends to lower the pH, and will have to be watched.

dammit! , i just went down to the gardening store and the b*st*rds told me they were fresh out of rockwool, and they r the only peple in the city i live in that bring it!!! The next time they will bring it is in 1 1/2 months!!!!
I'll be needing a different growing medium obviously! U got any ideas that will take me through the whole cycle?
I'm thinking of using this setup, http://www.wilter.com/epicurus/.ppic...dro-setup.html , is it any good? Also do I have to make alot of holes at the bottom of the pot?
