| This is a repeat of the previous post because I can't open up the thread. I am growing using hydroponics. My growing medium is vermiculite/perlite 50/50 mixture in 1 qt square plastic containers with holes drilled on the bottom. The containers are sitting in a tray of grow solution. The plants are about 2 weeks old and are healthy looking and about 2-3inches tall. I do have several questions since I am a first time grower. 1. Are the 1 qt. containers big enough to take the plants all the way to maturity? I'm planning to grow them 1 1/2- 2ft before flowering. 2. Is the verm/perlite medium dense enough to suppport a 1 1/2- 2ft plant? 3. The seedlings have been in a constant reservoir of grow solution since the begining. I recently read that the medium should be allowed to dry out between watering/feedings. Is this true? Should I let the reservoir dry out before filling it up again? How long should I leave it dry before refilling it? Do I need to worry about root rot if I leave them in constant solution? 4. The temperature in the garage closet i'm using can get near 100 degrees during the afternoon. I have no ventilation and i'm worried the temps might be too high. The plants seem to be doing well so far, but I want to do whats best for them. 5. I'm using flourescent lights for the entire project. How much does lighting have to do with the quality of the buds produced? I'm more interested in quality than quantity. Thanx in advance for any replies. Kemo | ||
