Basic info about hydro (newbie wantta go hydro for next Grow)

So U get like a 30 gallon storage tote fill it with the right nutes.
then let a tray with rockwol cubes in it sit in the 30 gallon tote.
Have a air pump for some extra o2(optional)
Have a water fall or bubbler pump up the solution from the tote or tub(nutes) to the tray with the rockwool cubes then let the solution drain back down to the main 30 gallon tote.....

I'm new to hydro and was wondering if u can tell me if i'm on the right path... and any useful links to see some pics of some set ups.
Thanks

ps do u still germinate the seeds first (like paper towel method).
andif u do watta u do with them after the germ u don't putt'em in the soil first do u?

Thanks

it took me about an hour and $25 worth of supplies to build a 6 plant bubbler, very easy to make and use.

here is what you will need:

a rubbermaid storage tote (mine is a 30 gallon)
2 bubble wands/bubble curtains for aquariums
air hose for aquariums
a dual outlet aquarium pump
super glue
duct tape
4-6 net pots depending on how many plants you wanna grow in it
grow rocks or similar growing medium
a box cutter/razor

take the top of the tote and line up the net pots how you want them, flip the pots over and trace around them then put them setting the right way and trace again (this will give you a guideline on where to cut) then use the box cutter to cut in the middle of the two lines you traced and that will allow the pot to sit in without falling thru the hole.

then take the two bubble curtains and line them up on the bottowm of the tote so they are lined up where the holes for the pots are. then glue them down with the super glue. then drill or cut out small holes near the top of the tote (but not in the lid) for the air hose to to run thru and connect to the bubble curtains. connect the hose to pump and to the curtains.

you can also wrap your tote with duct tape or aluminum foil to prevent light from getting thru and causeing algae.

throw the grow medium in the net pots and your all set.
