new growroom setup
permalink

Currently i have a 6 plant hydro setup with a 400 watt mh/hps and a 6x3x9 room and i am moving soon to a new house. My new room is going to have 12 plants with a 1000watt MH/HPS but i wanted to turn this storage space into a preop grow room using my 400w MH under 12 plants 2-3 weeks before the other room finishes, and then transport them to the real grow room under the 1000w. My question is, will 400w be enough for the first 2-3 weeks or if so could i do it like 5 weeks even? the temp in the storage room is cool so with the light should be optimal with a fan in there. if not, another 400 mh in there would work i would think?

400 should be plenty

400 sounds good to me for that many plants vs your space.

Looks like plenty of light to me!

400w should be plenty. from what i have read, it seems that using a more "mild" light during the first couple of weeks might actually be preferable. i have noticed some growers regularly use a smaller wattage bulb for the seedling stage, then switch to a higher wattage bulp for the veg.
