Sound Off

Lets hear everyones nute strengths for the various hydro grows and ways we do our thing. Ive included my PH also for anyone interested.

Here is mine for my Ebb N Flo Setup, Ive also run this with dripper in the past. This is growing my SkunkWidow, AK47, White Widow, Shark Shock and various g13 crosses.

Week 1 1200 PH 5.7
Week 2 1200 PH 5.7
Week 3 1400 PH 5.9
Week 4 1400 PH 5.9
Week 5 1500 PH5.9 to 6.1
Week 6 1400 PH 5.9 to 6.1
Week 7 1200 PH 5.7
Week 8 300 PH 5.5

Week 4 through 6 I supplement with a High P and K additive so I let the PH dift up over 3 days as to get more P and K uptake, I drop it after 4 days or so back to the start range.

I leave the last week with real low amounts of nutes and add the carbo sugar mix, the plant goes yellow from using the last of the Nitrogen up and calyx formation reaches peak, then I harvest.

Well Oz I don't have everything as detailed as you do, but thats why Im here to pick up tips on how to perfect my grow. I grow with a DWC set-up, using clay pellets. My clones are started in rockwool. I try and stick with this, but everything varies somewhat.


clones hit veg @ 400 ppm/ph 5.5
veg cycle starts @ 1000 ppm/ph 6.2 and finish @ 1500/ph 6.2
flower starts @ 1500 ppm/ph 6.4
week 3 @ 1800 ppm/ph 6.4
week 5 @ 1500 ppm/ph 6.4
last 2 weeks H20 @ ph 6

Aren't diff nutes from diff manufacturers used in diff strength? as well as the medium used and the type of system used?


Bubbler Stylie expanded clay pellets in net pot
Clones under 600ppm
Veg up to 900 ppm
Flower up to 1000ppm

QuantumHydro system ... Bare root system
Clones under 600ppm
Veg up to 800 ppm
Flower up to 900ppm

for some reason the total absence of medium in my case keeps me from dossin on the nutes.

Yup diffferent strokes for different folks, its just a great way of getting some opinions that others who are new can read and see what others do, the more variety of hydro gardens and messages the better, a whole range of opinion.

There will be a whole heap of different ranges, ph's and posts, none are wrong at all, thats the point, its a sound off! so lets hear them folks!

Veg stage:

pH 6.3 ppm 1600

Using Canna Vega and plan to use Canna Flores for the flowering stage.

Haven't got to the flowering stage yet so I don't have any figures.
It will be great to get some ideas/opinions for flowering from more experienced guys.

In a modified AeroSpring using GH Flora nutrients in 3" net pots with expanded clay pellets growing Shiva Shanti II with rockwool.....

Clone/seedling - 600-650ppm - 5.7ph
Vegetative - 1000-1050ppm - 5.7-5.9ph
Flowering - 1050-1100ppm - 5.7-6.1ph
Flushing - 200-300ppm - 5.7ph

I thought an E.C to P.P.M chart might be helpful:

Also I thought it might be worth pointing out that different P.H meters use different conversion factors(0.5 and 0.7 if memory serves)unless they've been standardised now.So anyway I'm going to print mine in E.C,as these values are the same the world over,and won't be affected by different meters(or at least shouldn't be.)

My fert schedule;
Grow:PH 5.5-5.8 Solution temp:72 degrees
Week1 EC 1.4(0.1 from NutriNova root supplement)
Flowering:PH 5.8-6.2 solution temp:72 degrees
Week1 EC 1.6(0.1 from Nitrozyme)
Week2 EC 1.8(0.1 from Nitrozyme)
Week3 EC 1.9(0.1 from NutriNova BN X-cel)
Week4 EC 2.0(0.1 from BN X-cel)
Week5 EC 2.2(0.1 from BN X-cel)
Week6 EC 1.8(0.1 from BN X-cel)
Week7 EC 1.4(0.1 from BN X-cel)
Week8 EC 0.3(flushed with water at PH 5.5 for a few hours which is then dumped and then flushed with fresh water(5.5)for a day.For the remaining 6 days it's flushed with The Clearing Solution as per instructions.)
I also flush with plain water(5.8) for a few hours at the end of the 3rd and 5th week before continuing with the fert schedule)
Plants are Superskunk in N.F.T under 60watts per square ft of Sodium lighting.

No TDS meter, so 25% Canna when little, rising to 100% (20ml per 5L) when 12" tall. Change to Canna flores nutes 2 weeks into flowering. Ph when mixed is 3.5, I up it to 5.3 and top up with plain water every 2 days. Change nutes every 2 weeks and the Ph of the old stuff is usually 8. Not right, I know, but I seem to be getting away with it. (As the man said as he fell past the 10th floor. )

i run at 6.2 and 1200-1300 ppm through all stages of growth, both veg and flowering

i have both a recirculating drip and a bubbler[dwc] set up
