That is sort of what my setup looks like. I'm not getting HUGE bubbles, but the bubbles are breaking when they hit the surface and I believe that's the important thing. My plants are looking a little weak, but I think it's nute related and not oxygen related. I'm getting positive root growth also.

The air pump is rated for a 65 gallon tank and is feeding air to two 5 gal. buckets through 6" airstones.

Your containers look sealed, as are mine. I've heard to get more air to the roots the bucket should have some sort of air circulation going on inside of it but I'm getting good root growth on 1 plant so far so I don't think that's really a solution.

Hope this helps a little, I'm a noob too.
