nutrients

After reading a bunch of threads on nutrients, and nutrient burns I have gathered that you do not need to have nutrients in the water of a DWC when until the plants are about 3 weeks old. Am I corect in this assumption, and could this be the reason why two of my plants are yellowing, and two of them are thriving. Thx for any input.

Its not necessary to have nutrients untill around the 2nd week - But it wont do any harm having them there - just use @ 1/4 strength and go from there to be sure

Do you think that could be my problem

Do you think that the 1/4 strength nutrients could have been my problem in the begining. Because two of my plants are thriving but two of them are wilting with yellow leaves. After day two of being in the nutrient less water at 5.9 ph they are starting to perk up, But the old plants are not really showing any new growth. Thx for the info.

Yes all plants are in a dwc hydro system, under a 250w mh. The ph is 5.9 and there is a fan blowing 24/7.

Sorry that i can't describe the ailments anybetter, but the nutrient temp is at 72. I think that the nutrients that I put in the first watering may have burned them. But now that I have taken the nutes out it seems to be stabalizing even though the growth is slow. Today one of the plants just compleatly died, i found it all shrivled up. But the other one seems to be turning greener, at least the veins are. So I guess it was a good day because 3 plants is better than two. Thanks for the info though, and hopefully every thing else will go smoother.
