Question
permalink

Just wanted to start out by saying whats up!!! Im new to growing but I know all the basics for a simple drip system. I have my perscription and plan on growing for personal consumption. My question is if I wanted to yield 3 pounds every month how many plants would I need to grow? I plan on using a whole room so space is no problem. Im going to partition the room into vegatative and flowering rooms using the closet on the vegatative side for mothers and clones. Any suggestions to how many plants and a good process to keep the 3 pounds a month steady flowing? I smoke alot!!!!!

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Any help would be great. I do have a few ideas in mind but was hoping to get some opinions from other people also. And as for the 3 pounds, lets just say if I could have an IV hooked up with straight THC I would!!! LOL Hopefully I can stay under 100 plants, everything included(clones, mothers, flowering and vegatative) Thanks again

Yo dude
I reckon on rotating 12 plants in a single pot system using a 45 day flowerer 2 kw of light in a area of 5 feet by 8 feet
and a mothering room like a wardrobe using par bulbs for economy supporting a mother plant and 6 clones in various stages up to ready for fl room you would be takin a cutting and cropping a 6-8 oz plant every 4 days or thereabouts

So lets break it down 3lbs = 48ozs = 1350g per month means your smoking 45 grams a day or 3g every hour your awake. Have you ever smoked homegrown? I can see a blunt or two every hour of commercial and you gotta be prepared for friends but I think your will find that your home grown will be quite a bit more potent then what your use to, I hope, otherwise I can't wait to see your grow. My god do you know how long I spend trimming 3 grams of dope? Well I think QH set you straight on the how to so good luck.

Cmon bro's I just want some expert advice here. I plan on having a large scale operation for "personal consumption". The room I plan on using is aprox. 10'x10'. I was going to use a drip system but I just bought Decembers High Times and they have this cool article on how to build a hydro setup consisting of 6" tubes, pumps, an oxygen stone, and a resivour. I plan on using that system(with some minor improvments)to start my garden. Half the room will be vegetative, using the closet on this side for mothers and clones and the other half of the room for flowering. I plan on growing from seeds to start and then keepimg 2 or 3 mothers. I want to vegetate until about 1 - 1/12 ft tall then flower for aprox. 2 months. The room will have intake and exhaust fans, circulating fans, co2 enrichment, tons of lights, etc.... The only thing Im not to sure on is how many plants I would need to grow under the right conditions to yield 3-5 pounds monthly, or do I even have enough space? I have some other questions on nutrients & if I should keep a steady flow of water on the roots or not but those can wait! And I will keep smokin brothers, just as soon as I can grow it!!!! Thanks for everything, peace out and stay high

Morn dude
U plan to use a self build from high times (with some minor improvements) dont wish to be a doubting thomas, but how do u know that improvements will work? do u know if the system will work ? as u have not grown before.
Would it be more advisable to have a look at what others have had a success with first.
check out DWC bubblers they r excellent for a first timer
or if planning to spend a few bucks general hydro water gardens. keep on tokin QHC

I think that what QH suggested in his first post would work but I like to think about big grows and I'll give you a second opinion.

To harvest 3lbs per month I would use the DWC bucket system from everything I have read it's the way to go. I would get ebb and flow table and a set up for rooting clones. To make sure you get the 3lbs I am going to estimate 2ozs per plant, I've heard 2-4ozs per plant with the bubbler, meaning you'll need to harvest 24 plants per month. Two months for flowering means you'll need 48sqft flowering area. I'd use one 1k hps and one 1k mh for lighting the flowering area. I'd also get a light mover to even out the lighting. I would have 4-6 mothers on the table all the time to take clones from. I would use the ebb and flow table to veg grow the plants, once they are rooted, for 2-4 weeks depending on growth before I put them in the flowering room, where you could veg grow them for a bit more if needed. Boom there is your three pounds per month. As for the system in HT I have no clue about it sorry.

Cool. Ive been doing alot of reaearch and it seems like the bubbler system is the cheapest and most simple method to use. Ive been hearing alot of good things about it so it looks like I might have to try the bubbler. Buckets, pumps, airstones, line and whatever else, seems simple enough. Now all I have to do is concentrate on NPK, ph levels, co2, air circulation, temperature, etc.... Would you keep the mother and clones under just a mh? Or florecent? How many clones can you pull off a good, healthy mother and how often? Can you clone from a healthy clone? and what is an ebb and flow table? Just thought Id spit those questions out there real quick! 24 plants is alot less than I thought, but Im glad. It might take me a while but so help me god Im gonna grow some killer smoke!!! Sorry about about all the questions, just curious. Everyones been so helpfull. If it wasnt for websites like this and smokers like you I would be an ignorant weed smoker instead of an enlightend weed smokin farmer!!! Thanks for all the info. Peace out!

Hi dude
Mum n clones under a mh would be fine and how many clones from mum would depend on her size etc.
I f i was u I would set of my mum first then build my room lights fans etc run it up to working temps once your satisfied then get on with the rest Ebb n flow is like a toilet cystern flush an it fills all done on a timer an pump
nowhere near as effective as dwc loads more inherent defects
