Ok I built one of these over a weekend. Heres the parts list: 1 3gal rubbermaid tub with lid. - $3.00 1 24 hr programmable timer - $5.99 2 10 inch bubble wands - $12.50 1 dual air pump - $17.00 5 feet of flex line tubing - $.18 a foot some velcro strip - free (had some on hand) a can of rubber spray - $8.00 a small tube of amazing goop - $2.50 1 heating/seedling mat - free (had on hand) total - $32.89 I sprayed the rubbermaid tub and the lid with the rubber spray stuff. That took about a day to spray on 3 coats. Then I drilled into the lid 64 3/8 inch holes. Then glued the bubble wands to tthe bottom of the rubbermaid tub, let the goop dry for 24 hrs. Then made 64 flex line support tubes for it and slit each one so that I can remove the support from the clone when its rooted. Then wrapped the velcro strip around each tube. then stuck each support into each hole. I'm sorry I didnt get the pix together in the order I made the thing, in other words, I didnt take a step by step photoshoot. I just got pix of it after I made it, but I think youll still get the idea. ![]()

here you can see the temperature probe going inside the tub for a perfect temp of 72 degrees F.

I put the heating mat under the whole tub to manage the water temps. I put the heating mat on a timer to keep it from getting too warm. I havent needed to make or use a humidity dome, none of the clones have wilted. Its only been a couple of days since Ive made this, so ill post some shots when I got some roots.

![]() | Great idea bobbooty! Simple, cheap and I wait with baited breath for the results. Could you explain why you painted the rubbermaid container with rubber paint please? Keepin' green GazD

to keep the light out, light slows the growth of roots and promotes algae and bacteria. I applied 2-3 coats. Plain ole paint wont work because it doesnt stick to well to the plastic tub. You can try using some black tape but it will eventually unravel. ![]()

![]() | Hey bob, I hope your aero-cloner works, because I built one of them...just like yours. And after three weeks-no bumps-no roots, I was thinking it was a waste of time. But them again, the direction I got off the internet to build it, did not tell me to paint the walls, so I probebly should have! I will go to home depot or wal-mart soon, to get that rubber paint....what do I ask for "Rubber paint"? Is it down the paint isle? And are you leaving the clone stem direcly in the water? Or above it? Thanks, SBox | ||

when at wal-fart, ask em for some of that "rubber paint" stuff that coats handles or steps of a ladder with rubber. They make the stuff in a spray can and a dipping solution. obviously you want the spray can. In black too. (it comes in white, but thats not what you want). Plasti-Drip is a brand name or Rustolium(sp?) I think. Just tell em its for a friend, he wants to spray some mallett handel or some crap. Not sure what isle its in, cuz i went to reg hardware store for it, prolly cost me a few more bux then it should have too. No, the stems DO NOT touch the water, they are about 1-1.5 inches above the water and the water is a RELIGIOUS 70-72 degrees F all the time, no exceptions. Yeah, no roots yet, however, i havent checked em yet and its only day 6 now I think. I will definitely post pics of the roots when I see em. As soon as/when I see them. ![]()
