adding hydro nutes
permalink

I am growing 4 plants in a dwc rubbermaid container, and need to know about when to start adding nutes. I just moved the plants to the rubbermaid container after roots came through 3" rockwool cubes. Should i add nutes to the water in the conatiner now or should i wait? Also if i do add at what strength? I am planning on vegging for 4 weeks so i know plants need N for vegging so at what cycle can i add nutes ? Example: 1st week nutes at 1/4 strength, 2nd week nutes at 1/2 strength, 3rd week nutes at 3/4 strength, then 4th week at full strength. Does this sound about right? Plants are now 2 weeks old and about 3" tall, with 2 to 3 sets of true leaves, and just put them in rubbermaid container with plain water for now. Want to make sure they get enuff nutes to grow ,but don't want nute burn. If anyone can help me or give me advice on when and how much to nute i would appreciate it,thanx. One last thing! Do i top off daily water with nuted water or plain water?

I'd hold off on the nutes for another week or two. Even at 1/4 strength these small seedlings are VERY sensitive to nute burn.

I managed to torch mine the first time, cuz I was too anxious to add nutes.

sorry I can't help more with a nute schedule, good luck; don't stress.

My personal experience...

is this. My plants were about 8 inches tall when the cotyledons died off and I do mean die off then I added GH nutes like the bottle says with the grow addidive and the plants took off. I mised at seedling strenth as it is listed on the bottle. Afterwards, I let if sit for 2 hours and adjusted ph to about 5.5 knowing it will creep up. That has really worked for my first grow.
