bucket handles in water
permalink

I am using 5 gal buckets and I have 2 holes drilled on either side with 1/4" drip irr. fittings glued on with silicon for the air stones. It looks like there's a possiblity of these things coming loose and I'm thinking of modifying the steel handles of the buckets so they act as retainer clips on the bottom of the bucket to hold the fittings against the wall. My question is: do you think the handles will hurt the hydro solution? It looks like its stainless steel. BTW, Home Depot now has black buckets for just under $5.00. Thanks - Peace and Love to you all.

See if a magnet will stick to the handle. If the magnet doesn't stick It is some type of non corrosive steel and you will be fine.

... I`ll bet there just plain old rustable steel. Put a magnet to them, if it doent stick they ARE stainless. If it sticks they are steel...
