Maybe im a bit slow, but i cant seem to get that SOB to stay steady. Anyone have a checker 1 and know how to calibrate it. I know it says I need buffers 7 and 4/10 and i only have 7. Is that why??? TG

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | yeah, you really need the 4 to gauage the lower pH. this will show the pen what "nutral" and whats more acidic. this way it can use its internal calibration program to find out whats more basic as well. since pH is exponential, you really need two bufferes to calibrate properly, or at least thats what i have been told skitz

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | hey technoguy420 i have a checker too...... i kinda think they're junk. mine goes off by up to .50 every few days, with new batteries. i'm constantly calibrating it, with both 7.0 and 4.0. it gets a little annoying. it's still a lot better than guessing, or that litmus paper stuff, but i kinda think that when it comes to ph/tds meters, more is more......ya get what ya pay for. in the future (hopefully not too distant future), i will be looking at a milwaukee....... just my peace- arnold layne
