Well, I have settled into my new space, bit the bullett; and even though I can't smoke I am getting ready to set up something big. I will be able to smoke in about 2 more months and want to have plenty waiting on me. I have a 10x12 space that will be lit with 2 1000w mh/hps and 1 600w mh/hps lights. The question is, DWC or NFT. I am going for quantity over quality. either way the stuff will still be smokeable, I'm just not concerned with every bud being perfect. It will either be 9- 5 gallon buckets with the tried and true jamesgang dwc method, or 10 10-foot 15-20 site gutters in a NFT setup. The NFT will be a full SOG grow, with a harvest every 7-8 weeks. The question is will I get more yield out of the slower producing DWC method than with the perpetual harvest. I have been arguing with my room-mate about it, I want to do the SOG setup just for it's simplicity, and reliability for harvest amounts. He says the DWC because while we might only harvest every 16 weeks, we will be getting much larger plants. The NFT will have 2 resovoirs, one with sativa and one with indica nutes. 75-100 sativa and 75-100 indica plants. at least 2 mothers in a seperate room under flouros, and a seperate room just for clones. I want to take 6"-8" clones and put them right into flowering. that will create 16"-24" final plants, hopefully getting close to an ounce off each plant. I dont' have much experience with hydro, so this is a gray area for me. But I need to figure out which one will be a better producer. any help is appreciated.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My, what a big grow you have! Overall, if pure yield is the goal, SOG is the way to go. You can do it in DWC or NFT, but I expect that you'd find NFT generally a bit more efficient in that setup. I'm a big fan of DWC (any problems with nutes don't propagate to other plants), and the quality is top notch. Overall, the two systems, if tended carefully, shouldn't have any major differences in quality...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | We already set up with 1 1000w lamp in soil and yielded just over 1 lb. I am hoping that with this new setup we will be yielding close to 100 oz every 9 weeks. I think that I have convinced my room mate to go with nft, we will hopefully be going to the store this weekend to pick up the gutters and get everything set up. we have about 50 clones of ak47 and several other strains.. now it is just a matter of time. all the clones are going right now in soil and we will probably finish them in soil. nothing too much, but enough to get us by and help out..... I will have pictures soon once we get the room sealed off and everything else setup.. I can't wait to see what the final yield is......
