Hi all! Started my first grow about a month ago, finally talked wifey into it. Just stumbled in here the other night because I was for the first time since sprouting, having a problem. I noticed my leaves (especially lower ones) starting to get a few brown spots here and there. After searching this site for a while, and coupled with the fact that i had just changed the nutrient solution 3 days prior....and my ppm was almost double where it was, i figured i was burning them. I flushed with some clearing solution for a few hours and refilled with a fresh batch of distilled and nutes (the concentration I had had them at)- and prayed they wouldn't get worse...but i just got home and they look pretty good. No worse for sure, and the leaves that had only started to get yellow spots (thats how they all started), almost look like they're getting better. Overall the plants look good, though unenvenly sized (2 approx 6-7", 1 about 4" and one only about 3 1/2). I started them from seeds (some bagseed) and only 4 actually sprouted of the 15 or so i tried to germinate. Three looked good and 1 was kind of fucked up out of those 4. One of the better looking ones got a fungus which i got rid of, and although it survived it lost half of its first set of leaves It has recovered with good roots and looks strong, but it's playing catch up. The really screwed up one has grown very slowly and i don't expect anything out of it, but i figured i'd keep it as long as it wasn't dead....its growing...just really slow- starting to get some nice visible roots in the bucket. Wow, that was a long first post.....anyway look forward to learning from the pros here. Oh, yeah, forgot....i've got a little rubbermaid bubbler w/4 pots growing in a cabinet (dubbed the "Magical Cabinet" by wifey....it just may GIVE us pot)- carbon scrubber in the box- Fox Farm nutes (I got roped into the whole lline)- can't complain so far. Oh yeah again...don't mix nutes while high..it's apparently quite dangerous to the plants.

Sorry about the really long post i made up there, I'll keep it short. Heres a shot of the cabinet, i have 2 6500k t5 lamps overhead and another mounted to my carbon scrubber vertically. they look kinda dim because of the camera angle, but they're quite bright. As far as height i have about 2ft of grow space left from the tops of the big plants..although i still don't know what they are, i only planned on maybe 2 being females so i grew 4 mystery seeds As a side note i gained an extre few inches of height by cutting a hole and sinking my basing thru the floor of the cabinet - this also doubles as my intake vent as my carbon scrubber vents out the bottom of the cab (into a sepearate space)- will get some more pics up soon. Comments, suggestions?? ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Thanks for the encouragement. yes, t5s they are- 2 overhead and 1 mounted to the carbon scrubber vertically. I think i may add 1 more as they get bigger, the single units can be chained together(even come with the cords). very bright and only 24w each. (claim 2000 lumens per bulb)

full spectrum lighting (1 3000k "red"+ 1 6500K "blue"), just added the vertical one to light up the undergrowth, as the canopy was getting big. I would highly recommend these bulbs as far as efficiency and price- 75 watts total for all 3 and a supposed 6000 lumens- we'll see how it goes as they get bigger though....i'll keep u posted

The grow goes well, kinda..the two biggest plants are about 9-10" tall and all are about 5 weeks old (from seed) #3 is catching up allright, but #4 is reaaalllly stunted- less than 1/2 size of biguns- almost no leaves... at the rate they are growing, i will need to go 12/12 in about a week, then if they double in size they'll just fit inside my max cabinet height. I still don't know what sex they're gonna be cuz they're bagseed. Should I try to let the small one catch up? Kill it now and free up some space? They all look so nice and green....it'll even hurt to kill the male(s). I'll get a pic up to show what i mean about the size diff. ![]() Above is from 10/19, runt on the right ![]() And there it is again, today (10/23), I circled it so you can see it. It's got roots, just won't grow. The others grew about 3" in the same time as well as filling out. What gives?? ![]()
